Seminar on Advanced Technologies and Application Directions of Composite Materials Held

On September 3, 2022, the seminar on advanced technologies and application directions of composite materials was held. Cao Xianghong, academician of the CAE Member, attended the meeting and gave lectures around the development status and trend of composite materials. Chairman of Shandong Petroleum Society, Executive Director and Party Secretary of Management Bureau Co., Ltd., and representative of Oilfield Branch, Niu Shuowen, delivered the opening speech. Yang Tongxian, member of the Standing Committee of Dongying Municipal Committee and Deputy Mayor, delivered a welcome speech.

Yang Yong, Vice Chairman of Shandong Petroleum Society, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee of Management Bureau Co., Ltd., and Deputy General Manager of Oilfield Branch, presided over the meeting. Bi Yiquan, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of Shandong Petroleum Society, and oilfield leaders Shu Huawen and Wang Yuegang attended the meeting.

This seminar is hosted by Shandong Petroleum Society. Experts and leaders in the field of composite materials from well-known domestic and foreign institutions, enterprises, and universities such as the China Composite Materials Industry Association, Sinopec, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Shipbuilding Industry, Owens Corning, and China University of Petroleum (East China) participated in technical exchanges.

Niu Shuowen stated that we should actively grasp the trend of the times and fully promote the development of the composite materials industry. Faced with the urgent needs of national strategy and industry, we need to accelerate the exploration of new fields and industrial directions, and effectively play the role of practical carriers and leading transformation on the application side. We need to combine the needs of the petroleum industry and jointly explore technological application solutions. With the increasing demand for improving production efficiency and extending periodic maintenance free periods in oil fields, and the green and low-carbon cluster industry about to enter the fast lane of large-scale development, oil fields urgently need precise empowerment and effective support from new materials and technologies. We need to build a sound mechanism platform and focus on creating a good atmosphere for collaborative research and development. The oilfield needs to further innovate and improve its cooperation model, allowing more new materials and technologies to efficiently enter the oilfield market, fully leveraging the advantages of oilfield industry chain business management, actively guiding various innovative elements to play a good role in the synergistic effect of industry, academia, research and application, and promoting the transformation and application of composite materials in a larger and wider range of fields in the oil and gas field. Shandong Petroleum Society should go out and invite in, coordinate advantageous resources, actively build a national promotion platform, promote academic exchange, ideological collision, and industrial development.

The attendees also visited and exchanged ideas at the New Materials Industrial Park of Shengli Xinda Company to understand the current production status of composite materials.
